Formed in 1971, it began operations in 1972. In the 70's and 80's he made flights on the east coast of the United States, Caribbean, South America and several European capitals. It expanded rapidly and began to have serious financial problems. due to mismanagement of budgets and aircraft lease contracts. Currently Fuzhou operate 14 Boeing 737-800 flying to destinations around China with more routes planned to other countries in the near future. It ceased operations on February 1, 1987, in a merger with Continental Airlines. New York Air was well known for its onboard bagged snacks, known as "The Flying Nosh".
