TR-3A
The TR-3A is a late 80’s
era mid-size delta wing stealth attack aircraft with a crew of 2 and powered
by 2 General Electric F404 variants similar to the same engines in the
F-117A Nighthawk. The aircraft, while bearing a slight resemblance to a
“scaled-down B-2” actually has more in common with the F-117A. It
is not a true flying wing because it has a very pronounced fuselage as
with the F-117A. Also unlike the B-2 which is a high-altitude bomber,
the TR-3 is designed for missions at all altitudes and has been optimized
with twin inward-canted tail fins for maneuvering and striking targets
at low altitudes. The only TR-3A (Condor 300) is now retired in favor of
the more advanced TR-3B.
TR-3B
The TR-3B is an advanced
follow up of the TR-3A Stryker. It is still a two-place tactical
recon & strike aircraft but has larger weapon bays giving it a higher
weight which require more powerful engines (F-110-GE-100) and redesigned
landing gear. In addition it has an unlimited range via in-flight
refueling capability and redesigned windows for better visibility as well
as a redesigned instrument panel with 3 Honeywell LCD 6.25in. multi-function
display screens used on the AH-64D Apache Longbow.

Designer's Comments:
The TR-3 was first created with Aircraft Factory
5 for FS5 in 1996, and eventually released as TR-3A in 2001 for Microsoft
Flight Simulator 2000 and was designed with Aircraft Factory 99.
Because AF99 was used, the aircraft was severely limited by modern standards.
Upon recreating the aircraft with FSDS, and eventually FSDS2, the Stryker
became more than an aircraft update. Therefore, the new aircraft
is designated as the TR-3B Stryker II. Since the Stryker II has been finished,
I decided to modify it visually and dynamically back to it's original specs
as a TR-3A model. Now both versions are available for modern sims.
Notes:
-
The TR-3B package is by far the
largest release we have ever done, 14 aircraft at a staggering 22Mb!
