G A L A X Y ver 1.0
This is IAI's last biz jet. It is a super-midjet, which means it's greater than a Lear60 but smaller than a Global Express. It can carry 8 businessmen and two pilots at Mach 0.75@fl 450 on intercontinental routes as Paris-NY without refueling, or up to 19 people in corporate shuttle configuration.
It runs two Fadec, 5,698lb thrust Pratt & Whitney 306/A turbofans and uses the same critical wing of her sister, the ASTRA Spx. Assembly is based on conservative technologies: conventional structure based on huge amount of aluminum alloys, composite materials used just on winglets and aerodynamic surfaces.
Price: $20,000,000.oo , but this exemplar is free!

About the FS98 model
This is a FS98 only model. It's based mostly on structures (fuselage) and some components (wings), and a lot of detail has been made by single parts.
The only flaws i know are some bleedthroughs here and there and absence
of de-icing boots ( got no more textures available ;o)
Features are:
Almost complete 3d visual model (tail excluded) |
Full textured 3d virtual cockpit |
Three landing lights added with Lladd |
Working flaps |
Working slats |
Working spoilers |
Working 3d landing gear |
Working lights |
Working strobes |
----------Stay tuned for ver. 2.0 which will include TRANSPARENT
WINDOWS!-----------------
Moving parts, which i love very much, haven't been implemented because they're above my designing skills. Is there anybody who could teach me how to add them?
I'm waiting for someone to design an appropriate panel, but in the meantime i suggest Alexander Lawrence's Lear45 panel.
Remember to never toggle view backwards (shift + s) because this way you will see the virtual cockpit from the outside ( this is a fs98 flaw! ).
The virtual cockpit texture you can see in the interior has been made with Michael Tscherdantzew Jr.'s Bombardier Regional Jet panel (Thank you ;o)), which is in fact similar to Galaxy's panel and very beautiful. Unfortunately, i can't either recommend nor include this beautiful panel in my Galaxy as long as there isn't and won't be any A/T switch, which is needed by the Galaxy's .air file.
Remember: the GALAXY is a rather big plane, so i would suggest to couple it with a huger sound than the Learjet one. Alex Lawrence's Lear45 panel is maybe the best panel i ever seen, and it will work ok with the Galaxy, waiting for a Galaxy panel... ;o)
INSTALL
Extract all files to a temporary directory, then build a new directory
called GALAXY. Put all the extracted files into the Galaxy directory and
copy this directory into FlightSimulator/aircraft directory and... fly!
