Why I bothered

I've always felt that the scenery in flight sim was just a little too boring. So I started creating add ons for different cities that added more buildings. Most of them are just standard default looking structures, but if you have the textures from VOD 3.0 installed, you'll see the occassional unique looking building. If you don't have these textures, I recommend you get them, since they are used in many scenery add ons by different designers. If you don't have them, certain buildings will just appear as shadows.

Installation

If you've installed scenery before, you know what to do. If not:

UnZip the file (I assume you've gotten that far.)

Move the r8 files to your main FS texture folder.

Create a new directory under you Flight Sim add-on scenery directory, along with a "scenery" sub-directory. For example, mine is:

c:\fsscenery\boston\scenery

Copy all the .bgl files into this directory.

Start FlightSim and open up the scenery library. Click OK to the warning, then click on "Files" and then "Add." Type the full path of the scenery location. For example, mine is:

c:\fsscenery\boston\scenery\*.bgl

Give it a name (Boston Add On)

Select "Local" from the drop down box, and give it a number. Don't forget to check the box, or the scenery won't work.

Final Words

I hope you enjoy it. I'm working to create add ons for as many cities as I can. Search for them where you found this file, and get others by coming to Andy's Flight Simulator Page . And don't forget to drop a note in the guestbook.
